The Ask

Every year Illumina allows researchers to submit projects for sponsorship. Projects are judged based on how the project helps solve a global issue. This year's Greater Good Award Winner is the Bee Health project led by Dr. Bertram Brenig of University of Göttingen. Based on their research Bee populations are increasingly diminishing and this research is aimed at informing strategies to help the community successfully manage the population and sustain it for future generations. For this project, we conducted a series of interviews to narrow the long interesting Journey of Dr. Brenig and team. The goal of our final video is to share this amazing story with the world as well as encourage other researchers to submit for the grant in the future. The video has bolstered over 45,000 views, and counting, on Youtube alone.
